Gallery Zo materialised from a concept of its director Costas Kyriakides, a Cypriot professional photographer in the Famagusta area. The gallery, adjacent to Costas' studio, is a home for his photographic work through the years and embraces a very wide and varied area of creative photography, both traditional and modern, including nature, wild life, landscape, people, travel, contemporary, fine art and architecture. Its object is to present the ever-developing and yet constant interests of the artist related to and expressed through what appeals to his central aesthetic idea of photography as a living medium - hence the gallery name Zo (I live). It appeared worth while to project this idea and share it with others through this site.
Costas Kyriakides, born in 1962, was from a young age attracted to photography and has over the years devoted himself to it not just professionally but as a consuming personal calling. He has been awarded the ARPS, the ABIPP, the AMPA, the ABPPA, the ASWPP and the EFIAP. Apart from his prizes in several competitions in Cyprus and abroad, his distinctions include:
Award of the Royal Photographic Society, Pictorial Group, 2002 Slide Exhibition.
